Our batch of Gayo specialty beans is wine processed, a popular method among Indonesian farmers that involves fermenting overripe coffee fruits and sun drying them on an African bed. Contrary to the name, there is no alcohol involved. This resulted in coffee beans that are incredibly layered and complex, with a strong liquor chocolate aroma followed by whiskey notes and complex fruitiness. It has a very juicy mouthfeel and vibrant acidity. This coffee is definitely an experience in and of itself.

What is Wine Process?

Wine Coffee (Fermentation Dried Natural) is a type of coffee that is produced after harvest and fermented to produce a distinct flavour and aroma. It works by fermenting overripe coffee fruits and then sun drying them on an African bed. This process takes between 25 and 40 days, longer than normal coffee processing methods. 

Complex and Flavourful

This is an exceptional batch of coffee beans possessed very layered and complex, with a strong liquor chocolate aroma, followed by whiskey notes and complex fruitiness. It boasts a very juicy mouthfeel, along with vivid acidity.

Wine Processed and Medium Dark Roasted

It is best enjoyed by itself and suitable for pour-over. For the best experience, it should be ground accordingly to the brewing method used.
